Adoption Terms and Conditions

The agreed-upon adoption donation is my/our responsibility. I understand that this is payable on the day of adoption and is non-refundable. This is not payment for the dog which I have adopted but a donation put towards funding to help other dogs in the rescue.

I / we agree to comply with all relevant regulations, legislation and laws concerning the welfare, control, responsible ownership and protection of animals including without limitation the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and ensure that anyone with the temporary care of the dog also complies. The welfare means providing for the animals health, happiness and taking measures to ensure that the dogs health is maintained, in that he/she is properly housed (dog must not be kept outside), fed, watered, socialised and exercised and receives appropriate veterinary care, including vaccination, regular worming and flea treatment.

I / we agree that if we can no longer keep the dog, we are NOT allowed to re-home the dog ourselves. In ALL circumstances the dog must be returned to Furry Friends Adopt Dog Rescue.

The dog will not be used for anything other than being a family pet, breeding, fighting, or guarding.

I/ we do understand that if not already done so, i/we must spay/neuter dogs as soon as medically advisable.

I understand that all resident dogs must be neutered (unless medical advice prohibits)

I/ we will ensure that the dog is kept safe and well and is not permitted to stray. No off lead walking for at least 4 weeks after adoption and only when the dog has good recall. We might strongly advise that some of our dogs never go off their leads.

I / we agree for our personal data to be passed to the microchip database by Furry Friends Adopt for the purpose of registering the chip. I /we agree to maintain the microchip records of the dog, by informing the microchip database of any changes to address.

I / we will notify the local dog warden and Furry Friends Adopt Dog Rescue immediately if the dog is lost or missing.

I / we agree to keep in touch with the rescue for the rest of the dog’s life and that the rescue will perform routine check -ups following the adoption. I /we agree that Furry Friends Adopt must be notified of any change of address.

I / we confirm that no person residing in the household, or who will care for the dog, is disqualified from keeping animals or has had a deprivation order made under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 or has an unspent conviction for offences relating to animals.

I / we agree and understand that whilstFurry Friends Adopt gives as much information as possible and carry out assessment they do not always have a complete history of the dog so cannot guarantee temperament, behaviour or health of the dog. 

I agree that I / we are responsible for the health and actions of the dog from this day forward. I /we understand that we have been advised to arrange appropriate insurance to cover both medical and third party liability.

I / we have been made fully aware of the responsibilities covered and are in agreement to sign this form. 

 I/ we are over 18 years of age.

All puppies must attend training classes.
